Apple has finally announced the date of its 27th annual Worldwide Developers Conference. WWDC 2016 will kick off in San Francisco on June 13. The three day event (June 13 – 17) will host the talent behind the most innovative apps. The Apple Developer Community comes together at this event from around the world to discuss the future of Apple’s technology and platforms including OS X, iOS, tvOS and watchOS. The first day of the event will start with a keynote address. The first day of the event will kickoff at San Francisco’s Bill Graham Civic Auditorium and rest of the event will be held at Moscone West.
Philip Schiller, Apple’s Senior VP of worldwide marketing said, “With four innovative operating systems and a new, intuitive programming language powering over 1 billion devices worldwide, there has never been a more exciting time to bring our developer community together. WWDC 2016 is going to be a landmark event for developers who are coding in Swift, and building apps and products for iOS, OS X, watchOS and tvOS. We can’t wait for everyone to join us — in San Francisco or through the live stream.”
The event is open for registration and the developers can get the tickets from WWDC website till April 22. Tickets will be issued based upon a random selection and developers will notified of the same by April 25.
This year again Apple is giving away 350 WWDC scholarships to STEM organization members and students as an opportunity to meet some of the most talented developers. Further, this year the tech giant will be providing travel assistance for 125 scholarship recipients to allow students with financial limitations to participate in the event.
There will 150 hands – on lab activities assisted by 1,000 Apple developers at the event. Plus, there will be access to Apple’s latest innovations on iOS, OS X, tvOS and watchOS. The aspiring developers will also get a chance to learn about best practices for app development. Developers from over 70 countries are expected to be attending the event. For those who cannot attend the event, it will be streamed live on WWDC website and through the app too.
